Las Palmas

After many years living here I still feel like I've been fooled... Just try to draw a picture in your head, when you hear somebody saying "Las Palmas". The vision is green, lush and fresh. At least that's what all touristic brochures are showing to you, and that was the fruit of my imagination as well. I used to live in Spain before, so the islands couldn't be so different, right?

But in my daily life all those promised palms looks more like that :

But believe me, it's not so bad, if you learn to look around! The palms are still here. Actually they are everywhere!

Just Do It!

I am not very happy. Neither I am unhappy. The adopting and adjusting takes some time. The green is changed by grey. The fresh replaced by hot. The rain is dried by the sun. The dark evenings indoors rearranged into night's softness in my terrace. But I can do it! Slowly, step by step, day after day, thread after thread... The palms didn't grow up in a one day either...
