After many years living here I still feel like I've been fooled... Just try to draw a picture in your head, when you hear somebody saying "Las Palmas". The vision is green, lush and fresh. At least that's what all touristic brochures are showing to you, and that was the fruit of my imagination as well. I used to live in Spain before, so the islands couldn't be so different, right?
But in my daily life all those promised palms looks more like that :
But believe me, it's not so bad, if you learn to look around! The palms are still here. Actually they are everywhere!
Do you have any vision about "Las Palmas"?

I think of the color green when I hear las palmas...maybe a remote island, that's my husband dream anyways!

I love the shadow and reflection shots, but my favorite is the palms at the golf course by the ocean.
Palms are used in landscaping here in the desert, but sometimes our cold winter weather kills them.
